Data Protection – Privacy Notice

EWASS is a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act. We may need to collect information form schools and education providers to:

• Support schools in their Safeguarding duties;
• Analyse school data;
• Analyse pupil information regarding school attendance;
• Register inspections;
• Home visits;
• Advice and training;
• Undertake an assessment of Welfare concerns.

Information can include pupil details, attendance information.

We will not share information without consent of the school unless the law allows us to do so.

Personal data will be processed in a lawful manner and we will have a specific purpose for processing data and will only collect personal data that is necessary to fulfil a purpose.

Data will not be stored for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

EWASS aims to keep minimum paper records and if this is necessary they will be disposed of, once they have fulfilled their purpose.

EWASS uses a secure email system. If this is not used by a third party, pupils will be identified by initials only and year group.

Processors will be required to notify their relevant controller of any breach immediately. The controller will then notify the “Information Commissioner’s Office” (ICO).
